Hundreds of professional and amateur athletes from across the globe descend on Grant County to tackle the notoriously challenging courses that wind through the mountains and the historic downtown. 2. Art and Culture: Weekend at the Galleries
If you prefer art over athletics, the first weekend of April kicks off the Silver City Art Association's Weekend at the Galleries (WAG).

As spring transitions into early summer, Memorial Day weekend brings one of the region's longest-running and most anticipated events: the Silver City Blues Festival.
Taking place on May 23–24, 2026, this free outdoor festival fills Gough Park right in the center of town. Organized by the Mimbres Region Arts Council, the weekend features live blues performances from nationally recognized musicians and local bands, alongside beer gardens hosted by local breweries, food vendors, and the vibrant arts and crafts Makers Market. It perfectly captures the relaxed, welcoming energy of the Grant County community.
4. The Spring Real Estate Market
The influx of spring visitors frequently translates directly into real estate activity. Many people arrive for the bike race, the art festivals, or the Blues Festival and immediately fall in love with the blend of mountain access and small-town culture.
